What I know for sure – gratitude lists

1 Thessalonians 5:18

In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

I have been thinking about writing this list for some time now, and today I decided to throw my hat over the fence and write it.   I have a new friend Betsy who writes Betsy Life and she writes the Great List.  I always enjoy reading her gratitude lists and am inspired to be more thankful myself, so hear it goes.

1. This week I was invited to a luncheon at Melissa’s Produce to celebrate their newest book, the Hatch Chili Cookbook. It made me happy to walk in the door and be greeted by so many friends  All of them creative and  inspiring people.  I left feeling inspired myself and thankful that I get to work and play doing what I love.  This picture was taken by my friend Bryson who is always excited about food & wine and shares his passion for his work on his blog Farm Fresh Culinary.

2. I’m grateful for Nicole Presley who writes Presley”s Pantry and Ericka from Nibbles and Feasts. They are two of the most generous, encouraging bloggers that I have met.   They play nice on the playground and are so much fun to be around.

3. This week I dropped my son off everyday at Nature Camp.  The Nature center inside the canyon was so beautiful. We walked hand in hand down dirt hiking paths shaded by huge trees.  His hands are always sticky and dirty but it doesn’ t bother me one bit.  I know my time to walk in public holding hands is short, and I am so thankful my job allows me the freedom to take him to camp everyday.

4. Today I got to go hiking with my oldest and dearest friend, Sarah.  We spent the morning hiking through the nature center catching up on life.  We stopped for a minute at a small stream that seemed to not be moving.  Just feet away there was a waterfall and we couldn’t figure out how this could be?  She tossed a leaf in the still pool and ever so slowly it began to float down to the fast-moving waterfall.  I told her it was just like life, sometimes it feels like nothing is moving and then at just the right moment you take off.  We laughed and she made fun of me always being so deep.  Friends come and go, but I am thankful for a friend who loves me no matter what.

Have a great weekend – be thankful,
